Mission choice becomes an important component in whether you succeed or fail. Every victory brings with it rewards that can replenish those units though, so your choice of mission determines both what you’ll be fighting against as well as what you’ll be rewarded with. So, if you’ve got two Tank units and use one on a mission, that one is gone forever and only one remains for future missions. Part of the campaign process is that you have a limited pool of units that depletes with every use. Since it tells you what enemies are coming up, you can prepare your army to counter that the best way you see fit. You have a choice of what path to take through these islands, and each section’s mission has a different collection of enemy defenses for you to face. The main campaign has you vying to take over an island split into several sections – each comprising a mission. The task of overcoming these hurdles seems simple, but can easily be surprisingly difficult based on several factors. Of course, in the way is your AI opponent’s army and any defensive structures that on the map. The ultimate goal for any mission is to send your army across the battlefield to destroy the enemy base. You don’t control them directly after you spawn them, so you’re left mostly just to hope they succeed in taking you to victory. Set It and Forget ItĪt its core, Warpips is all about sending units on their way and just wishing them the best. The campaign is randomly generated and thanks to that, battles will never be completely the same. A match is fast and lasts about 10 to 20 minutes. Warpipes features a fast-paced real-time strategy game without micromanagement. The same goes for units sent by your enemy. There is just one way to your enemy’s base. It’s best compared to tower defense games since you can’t control your units.
